Patricia Sides is an accomplished photographer whose work has received multiple awards and has also been included in numerous publications.
In many ways her work seems contradictory because it is drawn from parties, weddings, and places of intense conviviality as well as from desolate landscapes of total isolation. But the setting really doesn’t matter to her. Whether it is rooted in the black-and-white formality of hundreds of people crowded together at a wedding, or in the muted colors and boundless emptiness of Big Bend, Monument Valley, or an Apalachicola estuary, it is the light that tells the story.
Pat’s gift to us is her use of light that plays on the surface, bounces and refracts and sends back to us unspeakable emotion.
